College Showcase:
This 2-hour event will be filmed entirely. Footage will include close up of mechanics and the ball flight of each kick. Statistics will be used for college referral. Results will also be submitted to Rivals.com and Scout.com.
Video footage and statistics are instrumental part of the college referral process. When I communicate with college coaches I need to be able to quickly retrieve video clips and competition numbers out of my files to show them why I think a particular athlete would be a great fit for their university.
To qualify for college showcase... a kicker must be able to kick at least a 45 yard field goal with ease. A punter must be able to punt at least a 4.1 hangtime. The actual expectations for college kickers/punters are higher. These are just minimal standards for College Exposure Portion of the camp.
Kickers who qualify will kick field goals from both hashes of the field starting at 35 and going back as far as they can. They will get 8 kickoffs from 30 yard line (college distance). Kickers will also get 4 kicks from back of the endzone across the field - attempting to hit a goal post. This shows straightness of the kick to college coaches.
Punters will get 12 punts for maximum distance and hang time.
